2.1-2.5 Unpack, charge and switch on

2.1 Unpacking and checking the contents#

Unpack the board carefully and check that these accessories are present:

• 34 chess pieces, including two additional queens
• Phone stand
• USB-C cable
• USB-C to USB-A adapter
• Protective cotton bag

2.2 Charging your board#

1. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the board.
2. Connect the other end to a standard 5 V phone charger or a USB port on your computer.
3. Fully charge the board before your first game. A full charge takes approximately 6 hours.

2.3 Switching on the board#

1. Press the ON/OFF button on the side of the board.
2. Wait for the start-up animation: d4, d5, e4 and e5 blink white.
3. When the animation finishes, the board is ready.

2.4 Switching off the board#

1. Hold ON/OFF for approximately three seconds.
2. The button blinks red after about two seconds. Release it; the light fades and the board switches off.

2.5 Placing the chess pieces#

Arrange the pieces in their starting position before beginning a game. The app uses this position to synchronize the physical board.

For a board without coordinates, enable Flexible Starting Side so the app can accept either orientation.
