5.1 Language, appearance & app settings

5.1 App settings#

Open Settings → App settings for language, appearance, screen behavior and device-service indicators. These settings apply across the app, rather than to one game.

5.1.1 Language#

Choose your preferred interface language in App settings. The app initially follows your device language; a manual selection is remembered after restarting the app or device.

Available languages

• Dutch, English, French and German
• Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish
• Swedish, Ukrainian and Welsh

Some translations were prepared with AI assistance. Report a translation issue or request another language at info@ichess.one.

5.1.2 App appearance#

• Light: always use the light theme.
• Dark: always use the dark theme.
• System: follow the device’s appearance and switch automatically when it changes.

5.1.3 Screen timeout#

Choose whether to keep the mobile screen active or follow the device’s normal screen-timeout setting.

5.1.4 App version#

App Version shows the installed version. Keep the app up to date for board compatibility, firmware support, new features and stability fixes.

5.1.5 Bluetooth status#

The board communicates with the app using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

5.1.6 Localization status#

Your operating system may require location permission for Bluetooth LE communication. The app does not use this permission to collect or store your location.
