I bought this chessboard almost two years ago and I'm as happy as I was the first day. The quality of the chessboard and the figures hasn't changed: the product is sturdy and, despite frequent use, shows no signs of wear. After two years of daily play, the chessboard looks brand new—worth the price! I highly recommend it.
You will have a beautiful crafter chess set. Bonus it connects to the internet. You can play against others on Chess and Lichess, or bots etc. There is also a connection to my beloved Chessbase. So all the power of CB on your board, no blue light filter needed for your glasses. Spend that money on the board! Development is continuous, the onboard AI gets stronger and features grow, request your own features ;-) it is good to know that the board will grow to 5 stars for you as well over time if you currently think it is 3 or 4. Most other companies just expect you to buy a newer model every now and then. For me it is already a 5 as it ticks already my requirements.
The board is trash. The concept is good, but it is built with inferior materials. The paper-thin (!!) aluminium hinges fail. As this happens the connection between the board-sides fails too, as it is mounted over this plastic-toy hinges. You can throw the whole board into the trash as this happens. Mine lasted about 4 months, now it's unusable! To build this kind of "hinges" into a foldable board ruins the whole concept at it's unique selling point.

We have no record of any contact from you regarding this issue before the board was disassembled. Our warranty covers the full cost of repair and of shipping in both directions, so contacting our support would have allowed us to collect, inspect and repair the board at no cost to you. Instead, the board was disassembled and the hinge assembly removed before we had any opportunity to examine it.
Regarding the construction: the wooden cabinetry of the iChessOne is manufactured in EU (Poland) by traditional chess manufacturers with more than 30 years of experience in woodworking. The hinges are a mechanical component of the folding mechanism and carry no power and no electrical signal. They are separate from the electronics and the piece-detection system. A damaged hinge is a replaceable part - it does not mean the board has to be written off.
Several hundred iChessOne boards have been in use for more than two years, and in that time we have not received a single report concerning the hinges. Every board is function-tested before dispatch.

Es ist ein fantastisches Schachbrett mit sehr schönen gut gewichteten Figuren. In meiner Ausführung gegen Aufpreis durchaus edel anmutend. Die Funktionalität in Verbindung mit der App ist problemlos. Die Spiele machen mir auch mit der KI große Freude. Die Verbindung ist einfach herzustellen und stabil. Die Figuren sind gut aufgeräumt im Inneren des Schachbretts. Wenn das Brett zukünftig eigene Stellungen/Schachpuzzle erkennt, ist es in meinen Augen perfekt und verdient 5 Sterne.
This is my FAVORITE smart board especially for travel. It is the only folding smart chessboard on the market and it is super portable without sacrificing quality. It is a full size board with very nice pieces and even the wool upgraded carrying bag/case (which is a MUST have) is very classy and functional. It took a while for the software to stabilize on the IOS platform but now that it has been sorted it it is my go to board for all my OTB remote chess games. Highly recommended!!
Absolutely love the board, was hesitant to spend so much money for a chessboard but was worth it, use it now everyday and has definitely positively changed the way I play and study chess

I wanted a regulation-size chessboard that could still be carried around easily without taking up too much space, so iChessOne felt like an obvious choice.
The playing experience is very smooth, and piece recognition is practically instantaneous. During the first days of use, I haven’t encountered any issues.
With future app developments such as puzzles and other features, I believe this could become a chessboard built to last a lifetime.

Got my iChessOne about three weeks ago and I’m genuinely impressed. The board feels like a real tournament set, not a plastic gadget, and all the electronics stay out of the way until you need them. Pairing with the app and Lichess worked on the first try, and now I just sit down, press power and play. LEDs are subtle (not a disco), games auto-save to PGN. Highly recommend.
